My Favorite Banana Bread
Hey! My name is Kathryn Slaughter, and I am an incoming sophomore from Hattiesburg, MS. One thing that I have absolutely loved to do during quarantine is bake! I have recently discovered that I love to bake banana bread just as much as I love to eat it! I am so excited to share with you this super yummy and easy banana bread!!
Before you start, make sure you have a loaf pan…any kind will work!
STEP 1 | Preheat oven to 350°.
STEP 2 | Peel bananas and mash them with a potato masher or fork.
*Keep in mind…the more ripe and brown your bananas are, the better!
STEP 3 | Melt butter and mix in with mashed bananas. You can use any mixer or by hand.
STEP 4 | Mix in baking soda and salt.
STEP 5 | Crack egg in a separate bowl and beat lightly until the yolk is broken up.
STEP 6 | Mix in sugar and beaten egg.
STEP 7 | Add in flour.
*Quick tip…if using an electric mixer, add flour in slowly and place a towel around the bowl so it does not make a mess.
STEP 8 | Add chocolate chips! I add about 1 cup, but feel free to add more, less, or none at all!
STEP 9 | Grease your loaf pan and add the mixture.
STEP 10 | Tap your pan a few times on the table to get all of the air bubbles out. Make sure your mixture is even!
STEP 11 | Place in over for 50-60 minutes, or until a fork or toothpick comes out clean!
I hope you enjoy making (and eating!) this banana bread as much as I do! Trust me…it’s worth the wait, and your house will smell amazing!
Happy baking! :)
