Finals Encouragement
To say this semester has been wild would be an understatement. Transitioning back to “normal” can be overwhelming, but we are almost done. Many of us are looking forward to Christmas break while others are only focusing on the finals that they soon have to take.
Remember that a letter grade does not define who you are. Work hard. All you can do is your best. We can rest knowing that when our lives are crashing down on us, that the Lord already has victory. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “It is the Lord who goes before you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” We can rest in being proud of our best.
Make time for friends. Studying can be overwhelming. When you feel stressed, grab some friends and go for a walk. Or grab dinner and don’t talk about all of the classes you have to study for. It’s ok to not spend all day every day reading over your notes or taking practice tests. Reward yourself with a chill night with friends. Bringing yourself little joys throughout a hard week can allow you to stay positive.
Find a place you enjoy being at. Go to a coffee shop, library, or wherever you focus best! For me, I love studying outside.
At the time, finals will seem like the most important thing ever. Pushing yourself to do your best grows you as a person. Keep pushing through and be proud of all the hard work that has gotten you to this point. Remember that your worth is not found in the test grade you are soon to get. Happy finals week!
