Dear Chi O Fam
Walking into the Chi O house during Recruitment gave me a feeling of peace and belonging like nowhere else. I knew without a doubt it was where I was meant to be. Running home to all my new sisters was everything I had always dreamed of and SO MUCH MORE. Following the excitement of bid day, big little reveal was all I that my brain could be fixated on. I saw the older girls and the relationships they shared with their bigs and grand bigs and couldn’t wait to to be a part of my own little “family”!
When it was finally time for me to get a big sister, Lilly McElreath welcomed me into her nest and immediately became a safe place to land. She is my biggest cheerleader. I knew immediately I wanted to have the same impact and relationship with my own little one day. Lilly loved me so well and I get to see her live out the Chi Omega Symphony each and every day. I feel sorry for people that don’t have a Lilly in their life- she radiates pure JOY and I’m thankful to be the recipient of just some of those sunshine rays.
I met my little, Allie, her senior year in high school when she came to stay with a mutual friend for a football game. After the weekend was over, I told our friend that if she went Chi O she would HAVE to be my little. Some may call it love at first sight! Now, here we are 2 years later and Allie is my little and one of my very best friends all in one.
Lilly- As our time together at Mississippi State is slowly dwindling, I just wanted you to know how thankful I am to be your little. I could never repay you for all the advice and love you have poured into me throughout my time here thus far. You push me to be better and lift me up each and every day. I love you so much and cannot wait to see you take the world by storm. I’ll be there to cheer you on no matter what, just like you’ve always done for me.
Allie- My best friend, thank you for never failing to make me laugh. Your positivity and courage never ceases to amaze me. You teach me each and every day how to be confident and beautiful in my own skin. God blessed me big time by putting you in my life. We may not be together right now, but I’m counting down the days until we’re reunited and I get to see your bright smiling face. Slim chickens dates forever!
Here’s to our little Chi O family forever!
